SPA Board Grade Calculator Application
This newly developed Web-based application can be utilised to determine the Box Compression of a given box and potential commercial implications or opportunities. You will be able to calculate the theoretical BCT of any '02' style case using the ECT values for the grade of board.
To create an account:
On the main page of the application: www.kmss.co.uk/bgc
Click Register Here.
Fill in your details on the sign up page and click Sign Up.
Once your account is activated, you will receive a confirmation email.
You can then login on the main page using your chosen credentials.
On a newly created account, there will be no data to use.
If you want to test the application before entering your own suppliers, grades and prices, you can load a set of predefined demo data.
On the main menu, click on Maintenance, Setup and Load Demo Data.
If there is any data already created, you need to click on Clear All Data first. Load Demo Data can only be used on a clean database.
When you want to remove the demo data and start entering your own information, go to set up again and choose Clear all data.
To calculate the Theoretical BCT of a box, just enter the required information:
Dimensions of the box, flute and material.
You can also select a specific supplier grade.
The system instantly calculates the theoretical BCT as the information is typed.
The perform a Board Grade Analysis, you must enter the technical information about the box, as well as the outer liner and the flute options to be considered.
After entering all the necessary information, click Calculate BCTs and the system will instantly bring the calculated results.
The negative results (with a BCT below the required) will show in RED, and the positive results (with a BCT above the required) will show in GREEN.
On this screen, you can see the optimum board grade, the minimum required BCT, the cost of each option and the difference to the cost of the optimum grade.
Use the Environmental Factors option to fine tune the parameters to your own needs.
After amending the parameters, click Save Settings.
Restore Defaults can be used to set the parameters back to the initial values.
Use the Maintenance menu to create/amend your Suppliers, Supplier Breaks, Board Grades, Supplier Grades and Supplier Prices.
Under each category there will be buttons to Add, Edit and Delete records.
On the Suppliers screen, you can create as many suppliers as needed.
On the Supplier Breaks screen, you can create the breaks for each supplier.
On the Board Grades screen, you can create the Main Board Grades and match them with each specific Supplier Grade.
On the Board Prices screen, you can enter the board prices for each supplier/grade/break.
The Board Grade Calculator is Free for SPA Members.
